"Her words speak from the heart, a feminist voice of strength, resilience and courage. Reflections of impactful, formative experiences, we are granted an intimate view of a modern woman with ties to two cultures. Insightful and hopeful, this is a journey of self discovery."

Praise for Mariposa De Fuego

“Áurea Altamirano’s collection of poetry is a journey along a vulnerable path to a deep emotional well. It plumbs depths of truth about childhood experiences, the loss of a father, and the glorious layers of turmoil in relationships before it rises back to the top with a sense of empowerment and joy.”

Aurea’s Poems : From simple words a voice emerges—a woman, a young daughter, a mother but even more so simply a person—poignantly personal. A unique multilingual, multicultural perspective and a most unique feminism.. It is impossible to read this poetry without pain, without compassion and without a tremendous lift of spirit from its clarity and hopeful tenderness about life.
